The Natchitoches Police Department has arrested a seventeen year old for Second Degree Murder and Illegal Possession of a Firearm by a Juvenile.
The juvenile was arrested without incident and was placed in the Ware Youth Center.

The Natchitoches Police Department has arrested Johnny Williams (B/M, 21 y.o.a. of Natchitoches) for Principal to Second Degree Murder and Illegal Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.)
Johnny Williams was placed in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.

Original Story: Natchitoches Police investigate homicide on North Melrose Avenue
The Natchitoches Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Wednesday morning on North Melrose Avenue.
On April 12, 2023 around 10:50 a.m., officers with the Natchitoches Police Department responded to the 100 block of North Melrose Avenue in reference to an individual being shot in an apartment. Upon officers arrival they located Joshua Chism (B/M, 21 y.o.a. of Natchitoches) suffering from a single gunshot wound. As a result of his injuries Joshua Chism was pronounced deceased by the Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office.
This investigation is ongoing and the Natchitoches Police Department will release more details as they become available.
