Natchitoches man arrested in pedestrian hit and run investigation

A Natchitoches man has been arrested by Louisiana State Police in connection with a Pedestrian Hit & Run Crash on Sunday evening according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Stuart Wright.
 
NPSO Patrol Operations Bureau deputies responded to NATCOM 911 Center reports of a male lying on the side of the road on April 16 around 11:53 pm on Hwy. 6 East near Payne Sub-Division just east of Natchitoches.
 
Deputies arrived on scene discovering a 42-year-old Natchitoches man lying on the side of the road suffering from lacerations and possible head injuries. Deputies believed the injuries were sustained as a result of a hit & run from evidence collected at the scene. Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS was dispatched to the scene.
 
Troopers assigned to LSP Troop-E Alexandria also responded to investigate the crash. A law enforcement bulletin message was issued to local units and stations to BOLO for a suspect vehicle.
 
The victim was transported from the scene by EMS to Natchitoches Regional Medical Center with severe life-threatening injuries. He was later airlifted to a Regional Trauma Center. As the investigation progressed, State Police developed a suspect in the Hit & Run.
 
As a result:
Johnovon M. Goston, 24 of Natchitoches, was transported and booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with DWI 1st Offense, Hit & Run, and 1st Degree Vehicular Negligent Injury.
 
Goston remains in the Natchitoches Detention Center awaiting bond. The investigation is ongoing. Any further details will be released by Louisiana State Police, Troop-E Alexandria.
