The City of Natchitoches announced that the asphalt surfacing work that began last week on St. Clair Avenue will be halted this week, due to the inability of the contractor, Williams Equipment Services, LLC, to obtain the hot mix asphaltic concrete for this operation.
The supplier of this material, Madden Contracting, whose hot mix plant is located at the Natchitoches Parish Port, advised that they will be running asphaltic concrete this week for their own project. Therefore, it may be next Monday, April 24, 2023, before mix will be available for Williams Equipment Services.
City of Natchitoches staff will continue to monitor this situation, so that St. Clair Avenue and the other remaining streets on the FY 2021-22 Phase 1 Street Rehabilitation Project can be completed as soon as possible.
