Law enforcement officers support LA Special Olympics

The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office joined Northwestern State University Police and Natchitoches Police on April 18 to support Louisiana Special Olympics Red River Area Games at Northwestern State University’s Walter Ledet Track and Field in Natchitoches.

Family, friends, area students, teachers and school administrators were also in attendance to support and cheer on athletes who competed in the games.

The event provides an opportunity for those with intellectual disabilities to compete in various track and field competitions.

The motto of the Special Olympics, which inspires thousands of communities to support the organization, is “Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.”
