
Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies Jacob Creel, Natalie Kerby, and Darius Young completed the 92nd session of the Alexandria Regional Police Academy in Alexandria on May 18. The keynote Speaker was Alexandria Police Department Retired Sgt. Robert Dukes.
Cadets received 17 weeks of training in areas of criminal law, patrol activities, vehicle stops, report writing, defensive tactics, physical fitness, survival tactics, first aid, DWI, chemical weapons, and other law enforcement topics.
Deputies Creel, Kerby and Young will return to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office for additional in-house training and will be assigned to a Field Training Officer before they are released to patrol and other duties in Natchitoches Parish.
The NPSO congratulates Natchitoches Police Officers Jessalinn Edwards and Mikerra Evans who also completed the academy. The NPSO also thanks to Alexandria Mayor Jacques M. Roy, Chief of Police Chad Gremillion, Interim Deputy Chief Darrell Bradley, Asst. Chief of Police Lillie Evans and the entire APD Regional Police Academy Training Staff for their integrity and professionalism.
