Construction of a satellite location of Hope Pharmacy, a medical cannabis pharmacy in Shreveport, is planned on Highway 6 by the I-49 interchange in Natchitoches.

 

In 2021, the legislature expanded the number of pharmacies in the state from 10 to a possible maximum of 30. The legislature decided that the best method of expansion was to allow established pharmacies to add a satellite location for every 3,500 patients in that region. Around 25,000 patients are actively purchasing medical cannabis products monthly in Louisiana. This number continues to increase.

 

With around 400 patients in Natchitoches Parish, which is located in the Shreveport medical region of the state, so it is a logical location for expansion in this medical region.
