Family celebrate matriarch’s 100th birthday

Allie Roque Rachal was born August 10, 1923 to her loving parents Fredrick and Angela Roque of Cloutierville, LA. Allie was raised and on little river with her 5 sisters, Pearly, Ella, Roselee, Carrie and Dee. 2 brothers, Jimmy and Elmo.

Allie found the love of her life Beret Rachal and was married on November 10, 1940 for 66 Years. From this loving marriage they had 6 children. Andrew Rachal, John B. Rachal (wife Mary Rachal), Dorothy Rachal Metoyer (husband James Metoyer) both deceased, Charles Rachal (wife Desi Rachal), Shirley Rachal Raggio (late husband Ronald Raggio), Linda Rachal Larry.

Allie also has 18 loving grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and 29 great great grandchildren that she loves very much. All of her grandchildren look up to her because she is truly a great role model for them.

Allie worked in a sewing factory for many years, she made dolls, and clean houses for a living, which she was very good at.

Allie has always loved cooking and making sure everyone had something to eat. Even at 100 years old she still cooks and makes sure anyone that is at her house has something to eat. No one can ever say that they left her house hungry. One of her biggest passions was making quilts. She just stopped doing that about 5 years ago, because of health reasons. If it wasn’t for that she would still be quilting still till this day. She loved it just that much.

Allie biggest blessing is her family. Whom she really loves and that love her just as much. Allie is her family’s centerpiece. 100 years old and still holding strong for many more years to come. Brilliant and beautiful as ever the family celebrated with Allie on Aug. 12 for her 100th Birthday Party at her church, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, where she has gone to church for many years. Celebrating your 100th birthday is quite a milestone.
