Natchitoches Police arrest several suspects after vehicle pursuit

Natchitoches Police Department officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Lakeview Drive on Jan. 28 around 7:35 pm in reference to a stolen vehicle.  Officers were able to locate the vehicle on Parkway Drive and initiated a traffic stop.  The car refused to stop for officers and led them on a brief pursuit that ended just outside the city limits with the occupants fleeing on foot.

Officers were told by a concerned citizen that three of the occupants entered another vehicle and was heading back into the city limits on Keyser Avenue.  Officers located the vehicle and the occupants were placed under arrest.

DaQualon Brimsey (B/M, 18 y.o.a. of Natchitoches) was arrested for theft of a motor vehicle and was placed in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.  A seventeen year old juvenile was charged with illegal possession of stolen things and another seventeen year old juvenile was charged with accessory after the fact.

The Natchitoches Police Department would like to warn owners of certain KIA vehicle models that their cars have become vulnerable to theft after several social media posts have shown ways to bypass their security features.  If you own a KIA please reach out to your dealership about options you have to keep your vehicle from being stolen.
