A Total (Almost) Eclipse of the Park

Join Cane River Creole National Historical Park on Monday, April 8, to experience an almost total solar eclipse at the Texas and Pacific Railway Depot. A park ranger will present during the entire solar eclipse as the moon passes between the sun and the Earth, casting a shadow on the Earth.

While not a total eclipse, Natchitoches will experience about 95% totality, giving us a crescent sun instead of a crescent moon. The eclipse will begin at 12:27 pm with the maximum at1:47 pm and ends at 3:07 pm. The only safe way to look directly at the uneclipsed or partially eclipsed sun is through special-purpose solar filters. Solar viewing glasses will be available to the first 100 visitors. Free eclipse related snacks will also be available while supplies last.

Come experience a total (almost) eclipse of your park! The Texas and Pacific Railway Depot is located at Remembrance Way/7th Street in Natchitoches.
