An NPJ reader submitted a photo taken of construction equipment sitting in the vacant field adjacent to Hobby Lobby, Whataburger and the Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home, off of Keyser Avenue. A rumor has been circling for several years that there were plans to build a Brookshire’s/Super 1 branded grocery store. The NPJ has so far been unable to confirm these rumors, but will keep an eye open and an ear to the ground for any more information related to this project.
