St. Mary’s Girls Powerlifting Team shines at Red Devils Classic

The St. Mary’s Girls Powerlifting Team delivered an impressive performance at the Red Devils Classic Powerlifting Meet Invitational, held at Pickering High School on Jan. 11.

Alyssa Brewton, a 10th-grade athlete, secured 1st place and earned the prestigious title of Best Female Lifter on the Heavy Platform, showcasing her exceptional strength and skill.

Rayanna Northsworthy, also in 10th grade, achieved a commendable 4th place, demonstrating her dedication and competitive spirit.

Additionally, two rising stars, Gracie Watson (9th grade) and Ady Rhodes (8th grade), competed on the platform for the first time. Both athletes performed admirably and displayed great promise for the future of St. Mary’s powerlifting program.

The team is coached by T-Bird Smith and Nikki Brewton, with valuable assistance from Tara Smith and Ethan Smith. Their guidance and expertise have been instrumental in preparing these young athletes for success on and off the platform.

St. Mary’s continues to celebrate the hard work and achievements of its student-athletes, who represent their school with pride and determination.
