Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies and Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #1 with mutual aid assistance from Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #5 responded to NATCOM 911 Center reports on Feb. 22 of a structure fire in the 200 block of Coco Bed Road in Cloutierville according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #1 Chief Michael Sanders reported the home owned by Mr. & Mrs. Devin Spurgeon was a total loss.
There were no injuries, however, sadly, three family dachshunds perished in the fire and one dachshund was rescued by deputies and firefighters.
The fire was apparently caused by a heat lamp near the rear side of the home.
