The monthly Young at Heart luncheon for seniors was held on May 7 at the First United Methodist Church.
Musicians Johnnie Dunn and Buster Jordan entertained everyone with a sing-along program of popular gospel, country, and folk songs.
May birthdays were celebrated by June Durr and Kit Parker. Nettles Brown served as Master of Ceremonies, and Mother’s Day table decorations were provided by the church’s Bostick-Bradley Circle. Pastor Gary Willis offered a prayer before the meal.
Young at Heart meets the first Wednesday of each month at 11 AM in Bostick Hall at the church (enter through doors under the bell tower). The meeting is non-denominational, and all seniors are encouraged to come and enjoy the good food, fellowship, and entertainment. Attendees are asked to pay a $5 fee or to bring a covered dish to share. Young at Heart will take a summer break during June and July. The next meeting is scheduled for August 6.
