NPSO Deputies complete First Aid, CPR, AED recertifications

During an emergency, seconds count. Over the past two weeks, Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies have successfully completed recertifications in American Heart Association HeartSaver First Aid, CPR, and AED.

As part of the training, deputies also refreshed their skills in the proper administration of Narcan for potential overdose situations. All deputies carry Narcan, and patrol units are equipped with AEDs to provide life-saving intervention when needed.

Deputy Sgt. Collin Crow, a paramedic, Deputy Lt. Brandon Smith, and Deputy Sgt. Cody Olliff served as instructors for the recertification courses.

Sheriff Stuart Wright praised the deputies for their commitment to readiness: The training our deputies receive is critical to saving lives. Whether it’s a medical emergency, overdose, or cardiac arrest, these recertifications ensure that our deputies are prepared to respond quickly and effectively to protect the citizens of Natchitoches Parish.
