Kiwanis Club reflects on fundraising event, honors September Kiwanian of the Month

The Kiwanis Club of Natchitoches met during its weekly meeting on Thursday, with club president Brittany Barton providing updates on recent and upcoming events. Club secretary and fundraising chair Craig Caskey led the discussion on this past Saturday’s 5K Color Run and Pancake Festival, celebrating successes and identifying opportunities for growth in the year ahead, with club members sharing their feedback.

A special moment during the meeting was the recognition of Tiffany Woods as the club’s September Kiwanian of the Month. Woods, who currently serves as President-Elect, was honored for her work on coordinating much of the behind the scenes work for the 5K Color Run and Pancake Festival. Her leadership and commitment helped make the event a success, bringing in money to fund the service project budget during her year as president, starting Oct. 1.

“Kiwanis thrives because of members like Tiffany, who continually go above and beyond for the betterment of our club and community,” said Club President Brittany Barton. “Her example of service and selflessness inspires us all.”

The Sept. 25 meeting was also club president Brittany Barton’s last weekly meeting of the Kiwanis year. Barton shared her thoughts on the year as well as her thanks for the club’s trust that was placed in her.
