A portion of Louisiana Highway 9 within the Campti city limits was partially closed late this morning, Jan. 5, following a vehicle-pedestrian crash involving injuries.
According to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at approximately 11:18 a.m. after NATCOM 911 received reports of the incident. Louisiana State Police, Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS, and Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #9 also responded to the scene.
Officials said the crash involved a vehicle and a pedestrian. The northbound lane of La. Hwy 9 is currently shut down as emergency crews work the scene. One individual has been transported to Natchitoches Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
Motorists traveling through the area are urged to slow down, drive cautiously, and avoid distractions. The scene remains active, and no further details were available at the time of the report.
Troopers assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop E in Alexandria are investigating the crash.
