A residential structure fire on Jan. 9 destroyed a home in the 1100 block of Janie-Gorum Road near Janie, according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 12:42 a.m., Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s deputies and Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #1 were dispatched by the NATCOM 911 Center to a reported structure fire. Upon arrival, emergency responders found the residence fully engulfed in flames.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. The home was declared a total loss.
As of 1:28 a.m., the scene remained active while fire crews continued operations. Deputy Lt. B. Smith responded to the incident on behalf of the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The cause of the fire has not been released.
