The Natchitoches Police Department is now investigating the shooting on Theophile Alley as a homicide.
Investigators with the Natchitoches Police Department were notified by hospital officials in Caddo Parish on Jan. 13 that the victim was pronounced deceased as a result of their injuries.
This investigation is active and the Natchitoches Police Department will release more details as they become available.

Original Story: Natchitoches Police investigate shooting on Theophile Alley
The Natchitoches Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday night on Theophile Alley.
On January 11, 2026, around 8:08 p.m., officers with the Natchitoches Police Department were dispatched to the 1400 block of Theophile Alley in reference to an individual being shot in the area. Upon officers’ arrival they located a victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers on scene immediately began to render aid while other first responders were arriving to the area. The victim was transported to the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center and later airlifted to a hospital in Caddo Parish for further treatment. The victim is listed in critical condition.
Investigators with the Criminal Investigation Division and members of the Violent Crime Task Force were called to the scene and collected several pieces of evidence that will be sent to the crime lab for forensic analysis.
