A single-vehicle crash with injuries shut down La. Hwy. 174 near Jim Rivers Road in the Ajax community on Jan. 14, according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The crash occurred around 11 p.m. Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies, Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District No. 7, and Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS responded to the scene. Authorities reported the vehicle involved was on fire.
Louisiana State Police were also dispatched to the scene and are handling the investigation. No additional details were immediately available.
Highway 174 was closed to traffic while emergency crews worked the incident, and motorists were advised to use alternate routes.
Sgt. K. Padilla, Cpl. B. Keyser, and Deputy J. Watson assisted on scene for the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office. Further information was expected to be released by Louisiana State Police Troop E in Alexandria.
