
Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies and Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS were dispatched by NATCOM 911 Center on Feb. 16 around 3:32 pm to a reported medical emergency in the 100 block of Saylor Street in Campti according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say upon emergency medical services arrival, they requested air medical support from Air EVAC Lifeteam #160 helicopter.
Deputies assisted with a landing zone near the Campti library.
The 62-year-old female patient experiencing stroke like symptoms was transported by EMS from the residence to the landing zone, transferred to the helicopter and airlifted to a regional trauma center for treatment.
The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office reminds our citizens that in the event of a stroke, seconds count. A stroke is a medical emergency, and immediate action can mean the difference between life and death or long-term disability.
We urge everyone to remember the warning signs by using the acronym F.A.S.T. — Face drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulty, Time to call 911.
