
The Natchitoches Police Department Street Sales Disruption Unit (SDU) has arrested Vernon Rachal (B/M, 47 y.o.a. of Natchitoches) and Matthew Daniels (B/M, 41 y.o.a. of Natchitoches) for multiple drug offenses.
NPD’s Narcotics Division/Street Sales Disruption Unit (SDU), Violent Crime Task Force and the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant on March 10 around 8 am in the 1600 block of Sabine Street. The search warrant was the result of a lengthy investigation into reports of illicit sales of narcotics occurring in the Sabine Street area.
As a result of this search warrant agents located:
- 13 grams of suspected methamphetamine
- 15 grams of suspected marijuana
- Approximately 9 ounces of suspected crack cocaine
- One Glock 43 9mm handgun
- One Springfield 9mm handgun
- One .22 caliber AR rifle
Vernon Rachal is charged with one count of felon in possession of a firearm, two counts of convicted felon in possession of CDS schedule II narcotics and two counts of possession of CDS schedule II narcotics with intent to distribute.
Matthew Daniels is charged with two counts of a felon in possession of a firearm and simple possession of marijuana.
All evidence will be submitted to the crime lab for narcotics analysis.
