The Natchitoches Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Thursday night on Rowena Street.
NPD officers responded to the Highland Park neighborhood on March 12 around 8:42 pm in reference to hearing gunshots in the area. While officers were looking for the source of the gunshots two victims arrived at the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center each suffering from a single gunshot wound. During this time the original crime scene was located in the 400 block of Rowena Street.
Investigators with the Criminal Investigation Division and members of the Violent Crime Task Force were called to the scene and spoke with several witnesses. They also collected several pieces of physical and digital evidence that will be sent to the crime lab for forensic analysis.
This investigation is ongoing and the Natchitoches Police Department will release more details as they become available.
