The City of Natchitoches has announced the closure of Washington Street for emergency sewer repairs on Tuesday, March 24 beginning at 8 a.m.
As part of the ongoing work, the northbound lane of Front Street is closed at the Church Street intersection. Through traffic is being detoured around the construction area using Church Street, Third Street, and Texas Street.
Despite the closures, access to businesses along Front Street remains available. Motorists can reach these locations via nearby side streets between Front Street and Second Street, including Horne Street for eastbound traffic, St. Denis Street for westbound traffic, and Lafayette Street for traffic traveling in both directions.
City officials said efforts are ongoing to complete the repairs and restore normal traffic flow as quickly as possible, while apologizing for the inconvenience caused by the closure.
