The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced that a roadway safety project impacting Natchitoches Parish received bids in March.
The project will focus on striping and pavement marker upgrades along Interstate 49 between Louisiana Highway 6 and a point approximately 0.75 miles south of Boyce. The improvements are intended to enhance driver visibility and roadway safety.
The apparent low bid for the work totaled $3,524,215.00. The project also extends into Rapides Parish as part of a regional safety initiative.
Transportation officials noted that infrastructure projects are prioritized based on roadway conditions, safety data, and traffic demands.
