Kohen Henry of Tioga is this year’s recipient of Luther W. Lott Sr. Memorial Scholarship, a four-year award presented to a Northwestern State University student whose parent or guardian is an employee of Lott Oil Co. Henry is majoring in secondary education with a concentration in social sciences and plans to become a teacher and coach.
“I want to make a difference,” he said.
At Tioga High School, Henry was an honor roll student and a member of the football team, earning Team MVP and Second Team All-District honors. He is currently linebackers coach for the Tioga Indians. He is a first-generation college student and a new member of Kappa Alpha Order. His parents are Shane Henry, a 14-year employee of Lott Oil, and Allison Henry. His father encouraged him to apply for the scholarship.
“We are proud to recognize Kohen as this year’s recipient,” said Lott Oil Director of Marketing Camille Lott Donahue. “This scholarship is especially meaningful to our company because it allows us to invest in the families of the employees who contribute so much to Lott Oil’s success. Kohen has already demonstrated a strong commitment to his education and community, and we look forward to seeing all that he accomplishes at Northwestern State.”
Luther Lott Sr. was founder of Lott Oil, a regional leader in fuels, lubricants and related products and services for industrial, commercial fleet, automotive and retail customers throughout Louisiana and east Texas.
