Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office Cpl. D. Halliburton and Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #1 responded on July 13 around 2 pm to a reported vehicle fire on Hwy. 493, just West of Hwy. 1 near Montrose, according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

 

The vehicle, a 2018 Audi A4 was a total loss. There were no injuries. Deputies say the driver stated they she was traveling southbound on Hwy. 493 near Montrose when the dashboard caution light came on causing her to smell smoke. Soon afterwards smoke and flames began to appear under the hood.

 

La. Hwy 493 was closed temporarily while firefighters battled the blaze.
