FLASH postpones Hall of Fame’s 50th anniversary celebration party

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Friends of Louisiana Sports and History (FLASH) has postponed its free Thursday evening celebration event marking 50 years since the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame arrived in Natchitoches.

FLASH is the local support group for the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and Northwest Louisiana History Museum.

The event, “Celebrating 50 Years of Hall of Fame Fun in Natchitoches – Laughs, and Reflections with Jerry Pierce and Friends” will be rescheduled, likely to be held in March, free of charge at the museum.

Early next month, FLASH will be hosting the official opening of the museum’s new Heisman Trophy exhibit. FLASH members get several benefits, including exclusive VIP access for a reception prior to the ribbon cutting for the Heisman exhibit showcasing Louisiana’s four Heisman winners – Billy Cannon, John David Crow, Joe Burrow and DeVonta Smith. Each Heisman winner will be represented by family or close friends, and Dr. Cannon’s Heisman will be on display.

The museum, located at the traffic circle on the north end of Front Street (800 Front), is open from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and is operated by Louisiana State Museums. Admission fees top out at $6 for adults.

FLASH memberships are as affordable at $35 annually, and include free admission to other Louisiana State Museum properties around the state. For more information about FLASH and the museum,  call 318-357-2492.
