Merry Motion Picture Has a New Date

Due to the freezing temperatures expected this Friday, the Natchitoches Parish Library’s (NPL) “Merry Motion Picture” has been rescheduled for Friday, Dec. 16 at 6:30 PM in Natchitoches City Park.

Save the new date so you don’t miss the 2004 classic “The Polar Express.” The Friends of the NPL will be providing free hot cocoa and refreshments, but you may bring your own food as well. There is no seating, aside from the ground in the amphitheater area of the park, so attendees are encouraged blankets or folding chairs for warmth and comfort.

From the Academy Award-winning team of Tom Hanks and director Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump, Cast Away), The Polar Express (Rated G, 1hr. 40min. runtime) is an inspiring adventure based on the beloved children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg. When a doubting young boy takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole, he embarks on a journey of self-discovery that shows him that the wonder of life never fades for those who believe.

A limited number of copies of the book will be given out to families that attend, courtesy of Save the Children.
