First responders work single vehicle crash on Hwy. 487

(Marthaville)-Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies and Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #7 responded to the scene of a single-vehicle crash with minor injuries on Jan. 17 at 10:19 am on La. Hwy 487 at it’s intersection with Erdis Freeman Road near Marthaville according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
 
Deputies say the operator of the Toyota Tacoma was traveling westbound on La. Hwy 487 when the vehicle exited the road on the left side for reasons still under investigation. The vehicle then traveled through a ditch striking a culvert, then embankment causing the vehicle to overturn and come to a rest on it’s top.
 
The operator of the vehicle was treated at the scene by Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS without transport.
 
Sgt. C. Campbell with the NPSO is working the crash.
 
The operator of the vehicle was wearing a seat belt.
 
A towing service was called to clear up the wreckage.
