The City of Natchitoches would like to notify the public that water has been restored to residents in the Washington St. area near Flora, Emanuel, Des Negis, Desoto Rd., and Sudbury Subdivision. The water outage was due to a water main break during construction.
Washington St. area near Flora, Emanuel, Des Negis, Desoto Rd., Payne Subdivision, and Hargis Rd. are still under a boil advisory until further notice.

ORIGINAL STORY:
Washington St. near Flora, Emmanuel, Des Negis, Desoto Rd. area, Payne Subdivision, and Hargis Rd. within the City of Natchitoches Distribution System experienced a water outage on Feb. 22, in the above-mentioned area of the water supply system.
This drop in system pressure below 20 pounds has been caused by 8-inch water main break by contractors.
Because of this drop in system pressure, the water within our water distribution system is of questionable microbiological quality.
Therefore, as a precaution, the City of Natchitoches Distribution System is issuing a BOIL ADVISORY effective immediately for Washington St. near Flora, Emmanuel, Des Negis, Desoto Rd. area, Payne Subdivision, and Hargis Rd. This BOIL ADVISORY is to remain in effect until rescinded by the Water System.
It is recommended that all consumers of Washington St. near Flora, Emmanuel, Des Negis, Desoto Rd. area, Payne Subdivision, and Hargis Rd disinfect their water before consuming it (including fountain drinks), making ice, brushing teeth, or using it for food preparation or rinsing of foods by the following means:
Boil water for one (1) full minute in a clean container. The one-minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil. (The flat taste can be eliminated by shaking the water in a clean bottle or pouring it from one clean container to another, or by adding a pinch of salt to each quart of water that is boiled.)
Again, please be sure to disinfect your own water prior to consumption until you have been advised otherwise.
This Boil advisory does not affect the remainder City of Natchitoches Water Distribution System.
