Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies and Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #9 responded to the scene of a vehicle fire on Feb. 28 around 8:40 pm on Hwy. 480, approximately 1/4 mile West of Campti, according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriffs Office.

NPFD District #9 Chief Doug Rachal said the operator of a 2009 Nissan Murano was traveling on Hwy. 480 when he observed smoke under the dashboard. He stopped then suddenly observed flames under the hood. The fire quickly spread engulfing the entire vehicle. There were no injuries. The vehicle was a total loss.
