The Natchitoches Good News Clubs are off the ground and finding great success in Natchitoches Parish! It’s been an amazing school year and we are so grateful for all who have helped to make this dream a reality. Our Good News Clubs Director has done an amazing job reaching out to the schools in our parish and establishing some incredible volunteer teams. We thank the eight schools and their principals who have been the first to open their doors with such warm receptions to establish a club as a staple in their schedules. The participating schools thus far are Fairview Alpha, Goldonna, Magnet, Marthaville, NSU Elementary Lab, NSU Middle Lab, Provencal, and Weaver. Thank you to the parents who have allowed us to serve your children!
What is a Good News Club? It is a voluntary club, with parental permission, to hear the Gospel through Bible stories, music, games, and activities. Good News Clubs are an outlet of Child Evangelism Fellowship, which was established in 1937 and is the World’s Largest Mission Agency for Children. CEF is in every country in the world except North Korea. In June of 2001 a U.S. Supreme Court decision confirmed the freedom of access to public schools for Good News Clubs. Nationwide, thousands of clubs have been established and provide a consistent club program that encourages hearts and develops relationships while sharing about God’s love.
The West Central Chapter of Louisiana is working to “Reach Every Child, Every Parish, Every Day with the Good News”. The Chapter’s Headquarters is in Natchitoches but is responsible for establishing child evangelism programs in the parishes of Natchitoches, Sabine, Vernon, Rapides, Grant and Winn. If you, your church, or organization would like to help make a difference, we would love to connect with you! We welcome volunteers in many areas, including volunteers in the clubs, prayer partners, snack coordinators, and financial supporters. No task is too small!
