
Indigeaux, Natchitoches’ own tribal fusion belly dance troupe, will return to Art Along the Bricks this coming Saturday, March 11 at 10 am on Front Street in Natchitoches. They will be joined by the Beginner Indigeaux Dancers, and their new drum group, the Rhythm Warriors.
The show will feature original dances done in traditional and non-traditional styles and is part of the tribal fusion style of belly dance. Choreographed as well as improvisational dances will be performed. Indigeaux will also debut their use of zills, or finger cymbals, in one number.
The troupe has been together for 10 years and performs at various functions around the state. They will be joined by the beginner Indigeaux group, which grew out of this fall’s library class. Also making their debut will be the Rhythm Warriors, a drum group made of veterans and friends. They will accompany the dancers and also perform a drum circle improv.
The show will be in front of the art gallery on Front Street, will last about 40 minutes and will feataure colorful, flowing costumes, twirling skirts and unique headpieces. The show will end in an audience participaton number. You don’t want to miss this entertaining morning!
