
Off to another strong start, the Natchitoches Central softball team plays host to District 1-5A rival Captain Shreve Thursday afternoon.
The Lady Chiefs (9-3) will face Shreve in a junior varsity game at 4 followed by the varsity contest at 5:30 on the NCHS campus.
Natchitoches Central is coming off a 6-0 district win over Benton on Tuesday as senior Maddie Robinson gave up just one hit, a first-inning single. She struck out nine and did not walk anyone.
Offensively, the Lady Chiefs got things moving in the first inning, when Sydney Terrell grounded out, scoring a run.
Natchitoches Central took control with four runs in the sixth inning. The onslaught came from a single by Desi Robinson and a double by Lila Robertson that each drove in runs.
The Lady Chiefs piled up nine hits. Maddie and Desi Robinson each collected multiple hits with Maddie Robinson going 3-for-3 at the plate to set the pace.
