Florida man and his dog flee police on motorcycle

Residents of or motorists traveling on Hwy. 6 West in Natchitoches Parish might have seen a motorcyclist and his dog running from the police on April 4 around 11:52 am.

This is what happened:

A pursuit involving a motorcyclist in Sabine Parish, that went over the parish line into Natchitoches Parish, ended with one person (and his dog) in custody.

The Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office contacted the NATCOM 911 Center requesting assistance for Sabine Parish Deputies in pursuit of a motorcycle on Hwy. 6, entering Natchitoches Parish. Natchitoches Parish Deputies joined in as the pursuit continued eastbound through Robeline, Hagewood, and then onto the I-49 corridor near Parc Natchitoches.

The motorcyclist and his passenger, a dog, then turned traveling westbound at speeds near 100 mph back through the Hagewood community, then into Robeline, where he was stopped shortly thereafter in Sabine Parish.

The suspect from Florida was taken into custody without incident. There were no injuries. Robeline and Louisiana State Police assisted. For inquiries the dog is fine. Sabine Parish Deputies dropped the dog off at the Sabine Humane Society for safekeeping until the offender is released.
