The Natchitoches Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Wednesday morning on North Melrose Avenue.
Natchitoches Police Department officers responded to the 100 block of North Melrose Avenue in reference to an individual being shot in an apartment pm April 12 around 10:50 am. Upon officers arrival they located Joshua Chism (B/M, 21 y.o.a. of Natchitoches) suffering from a single gunshot wound. As a result of his injuries Joshua Chism was pronounced deceased by the Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office.
This investigation is ongoing and the Natchitoches Police Department will release more details as they become available.
