The City of Natchitoches would like to notify the public that East 5th Street between Whitfield Dr. and Sirod St. will be closed Sunday, May 21 from 4:15-7:45 PM, for the Open Streets event. Mayor Williams and the Mayor’s Health and Fitness Council have enacted an initiative called Open Streets that has been occurring in cities across the nation. Open Streets necessitates the closure of a residential street to bring health and fitness education to the community.

The East 5th Open Streets will take place from 5:30-7 PM on May 21. In order to allow for setting up and breaking down equipment, the street will be closed from 4:15-7:45 PM. This free event is designed to promote healthy living in our community. During this road closure, traffic may detour around the event via adjacent city streets.
