
The Kiwanis Club of Natchitoches opened on Thursday, June 1st. Club secretary Craig Caskey opened the meeting and discussed upcoming club projects and training opportunities. Caskey presented Cle’Lie Aubin with the recognition of being Kiwanian of the Month.
The 2023-2024 slate of officers from the nomination committee was officially presented to the club and approved by vote of acclimation. The officers for the new Kiwanis year starting on October 1st are:
President: Craig George
President-Elect: Cle’Lie Aubin
Treasurer: Tiffany Gourdon
Secretary: Craig Caskey
Directors: Micah Murchison, Russell Meissner, and Meghan Sylvia
Russell Meissner introduced Clarissa Smith and Azizah Hamilton from the City of Natchitoches City Hall. Their presentation was on the upcoming Juneteenth weekend starting on Friday, June 16th and continuing into Saturday, June 17th. The event is free and open to the public. Friday will have an opening ceremony in front of City Hall. Saturday will start off with a basketball tournament and then a festival on the Natchitoches riverbank.
