Campti man injured in single-vehicle crash on Hwy. 119 near Gorum

 
A Campti man suffered moderate non-life threatening injuries in a single-vehicle crash on June 13 around 4:13 am on Hwy. 119 near Gorum according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
 
Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies, Louisiana State Police, Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS and Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #1 First Responders responded to NATCOM 911 Center reports of a single-vehicle crash with injuries on Hwy. 119 near the Janie-Gorum Road just west of Gorum.
 
Deputies arrived on scene finding the sole-occupant of the vehicle suffering from moderate non-life threatening injuries.
 
Deputies say a 77-year-old Campti man operating a 2020 Dodge Durango was traveling westbound on Hwy. 119 near the Janie-Gorum Road when he exited the road on the left side. This action caused the vehicle to travel through a ditch then across Janie-Gorum Road striking a couple of trees coming to a rest.
 
The driver was transported from the scene by EMS to a regional trauma center for treatment of injuries.
 
The driver stated he was attempting to avoid deer in the roadway.
 
The vehicle received heavy damage.
 
The crash was investigated by Troopers assigned to LSP Troop-E Alexandria.
