Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is an organization of college educated women our cherished organization has dedicated 110 years to fostering community growth through educational initiatives. For the past 33 years, the Natchitoches Alumnae Chapter has been investing into the lives of our high school graduates by rewarding them for their scholastic excellence and academic endeavors. This year we continue to support high school graduates as they embark upon their next chapter.
The Natchitoches Alumnae Chapter is esteemed to announce our scholarship recipients for the 2023-2024 academic school year.
Our first recipient is Amia Brown. Amia is a 2023 graduate of Natchitoches Central High School. Amia plans to attend Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge this fall and major in Nursing.
Our second recipient is Za’Niyah Grayson. Za’Niyah is a 2023 graduate of Lakeview High School. This fall Za’Niyah plans to attend Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge and major in Speech Pathology.
Our third recipient is Nyla Helaire. Nyla is a 2023 graduate of Natchitoches Central High School. Nyla plans to attend Grambling State University this fall and major in Nursing.
Our fourth recipient is Janara Kirts. Janara is a 2023 graduate of Montgomery High School. Janara plans to attend Bossier Parish Community College and study Applied Science in Nursing.
Our fifth recipient is M’Khya Mitchell. M’Khya a 2023 graduate of Atlanta High School. She plans to major in Psychology at Southern University and A&M College.
Our sixth recipient is Kamia Pichon. Kamia is a 2023 graduate of Natchitoches Central High School. Kamia plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette this fall and major in Kinesiology.
Our seventh recipient is Lauren Poole. Lauren is a 2023 graduate of Winnfield High School. Lauren plans to attend Louisiana Tech University this fall and major in Civil Engineering.
Our eighth recipient is Hailey Poydras. Hailey is a 2023 graduate of Lakeview High School. Hailey plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Monroe this fall and major in Biology (Pre-Med).
Our ninth recipient is NaKeira White. NaKeira is a 2023 graduate of Natchitoches Central High School. In the fall, NaKeira plans to attend Northwestern State University and major in Hospitality and Business Management.
Our tenth and final scholarship recipient is Brian Young, Jr. Brian is a 2023 graduate of Natchitoches Central High School. Brian plans to attend Northwestern State University and major in Political Science.
The scholarship honorees for this year have balanced a demanding course load, gained a head start on college by taking Dual Enrollment classes and taking the CLEP exam, and engaged in dozens of extracurricular activities—all while maintaining above-average grades. We salute your efforts and are pleased with our scholarship honorees!
