Goldonna News: Sweet Summertime

School is out and that means one thing! Everyone is in sweet summertime mode.

What goes better with summer than an outdoor movie! This Saturday night will be “Movie Night” for the local community. June 17th at dark, grab your popcorn and head to the Pavillion at Town Hall. The classic movie, “The Great Outdoors” will be shown. You can bring your chairs if you do not want to sit at the picnic tables. This will be a great time of fellowship with neighbors young and old.

While you are making your way to the Pavillion, I hope you turn your attention to the American Flag adorned hill next to River of Life Church. Local residents, Eugene Garner and Timmy Harris, (and others) wanted to find a meaningful way to honor our Veterans and those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom. The original goal was to celebrate Flag Day but that quickly grew into having one flag for every single service man and woman from Goldonna. If you would like to help with donating flags or signage please reach out to Mr. Eugene Garner at 318-663-1148.

The Natchitoches Parish School Board is holding Summer Town Hall Meetings. The first location was Fairview Elementary School. Please come out and visit with your School Board Members.

Dress code reminders as well as the Spirit Store have been posted on Goldonna Elementary Junior High School’s Facebook page. The last day to order is July 7th at 11:59pm.
