
A Rapides man was airlifted to a regional trauma after suffering moderate-severe injuries during an accident at a Kisatchie Swimming area in southwest Natchitoches Parish on June 17 around 5:08 pm according to Sheriff Stuart Wright.
Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies, Natchitoches Parish Fire Protecton District #4, Provencal Police, and Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS responded to NATCOM 911 Center reports of a male being injured while at Kisatchie Falls off of the Kisatchie Falls Road near Kisatchie.
Units arrived on scene finding a 28-year-old LeCompte man suffering from moderate-severe injuries sustained while jumping from an elevated section into the water.
Air EVAC LifeTeam helicopter was dispatched to a landing zone set-up in the parking lot of Kisatchie Baptist Church.
The patient was transported from the scene to the landing zone and airlifted to a regional trauma center with moderate to severe injuries.
US Forest Service was notified of the accident.
Deputies say as we approach the summer season which involves swimming, water skiing and other fun activities be careful, attempt to know the area and what may lay beneath the surface. Always use good judgement.
