Natchitoches Junior High Football is on the Move!

The hardworking young men of the Natchitoches Junior High football team held a car wash and BBQ Plate fundraiser at the school on Saturday, June 17. The team boasts 60 young men in 7th and 8th grades who are honing their gridiron skills under Coach Demetric White. Coach White is a U.S. Army veteran and former police officer in the Natchitoches Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Taskforce. He is in his first year as a teacher and coach and is pursuing his alternate teacher certification with Louisiana College.

Coach White and his players are busy putting in the work for the upcoming 2023-24 football season with summer workouts three days per week. In addition to skills and conditioning, the young men are learning the system of new NCHS coach Jesse Curtis. That will ensure a smoother transition when the young men move up to Chief football when they reach high school as the young men will know what is expected of them.

The funds raised Saturday will be used to purchase uniforms for the team as well as travel expenses. The NJH Indians are also offering Banner Sponsorships to businesses and supporters for the area around their field. This is an excellent way to show your support for some young men doing a superb job of representing our community. If you are interested in supporting NJH Indian football, please contact Coach White at 318-774-0755. The season kicks off this September. Come on out and see some hard-hitting action!
