Natchitoches 10U All Stars

This weekend the Cane River Krew, a local Natchitoches 10U All Star team, participated in a tournament in Baton Rouge. The team was formed on June 6, practiced five times, and went on to compete at a high level.

Coach Robin Hamby said, “I’m very proud of how this group of boys came together to represent Natchitoches.”

The team entered the tournament against 15 other teams who had played together and had tournament experience leading up to the weekend. The first game was delayed three hours due to the weather. The boys came out sluggish and it showed in the first game, but they bounced back and got the win in the second game to finish 1-1 in pool play.

The 8th seed got the team an an 8 am start time on Sunday.

Despite the early start time, they showed up ready to play. Sunday was hot and they played some completive teams. The boys got two wins to get them into the semifinals.

Hamby said, “I feel like we ran out of gas in our 3rd game of the day. But like I told the boys, finishing in the top 4 out of 16 teams in the state is nothing to hang your head about. I’m proud of this group of boys and thankful for the support and sacrifices their families made to make this tournament possible.”
