The Natchitoches Parish Council held a brief meeting on June 17 to approve the following agenda items:

Appoint of Marvin Blake and Ronnie Evans to the Natchitoches Parish Planning and Zoning Commission.

Adopt Ordinance 011-2023 for a 2023 budget amendment for the Fund 915 Opioid Settlement Fund.

Adopt Ordinance 012-2023 to affect a zoning variance of a 3.0-acre tract of land (parcel #8010003500A) to approve a new construction church in an Industrial-Agricultural (I-A) district. The property is in Section 4, Township 9 North, and Range 7 West with a physical address of 2047 Highway 6, Natchitoches, LA 71457, as shown on the Survey attached hereto, approved by the Parish Planning Commission on June 5, 2023.

Adopt Resolution 023-2023 of the Parish Council providing notice of intention to levy and collect a 1-percent economic development sales and use tax upon the sale at retail, the use, the lease or rental, the consumption and storage for use or consumption of tangible personal property and on sales or services in the Economic Development District within the Parish of Natchitoches to be named the “Economic Development Districts I, II, III, and IV Parish of Natchitoches, and a hotel occupancy tac of 2-percent upon the fee or rent for occupancy of hotel rooms located within the districts commencing on Oct. 1, 2023
