The Natchez Village Council met in a special called meeting Monday, August 14 at the New Birth Baptist Church’s Paul Turner Fellowship Hall.
The meeting only had one item on the agenda, approving $5,400.00 for the repair of the number 1 pump at the village sewer system’s number 1 lift station.
The pump, a Gorman-Rupp model installed in 2018, is leaking oil at the seal and is requiring “oil as fast as we can put it in.” The repair will consist of changing out the pump’s rotating parts with new ones and replacing the oil.
All three Natchez aldermen were present at the meeting along with Mayor Patsy Ward-Hoover. All three aldermen voted to authorize the funds for the pump’s repair. The meeting was then adjourned.
