The Natchitoches Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on Aug. 15 around 3:01 pm in the 400 block of Fairgrounds Road. Natchitoches Police Department officers were dispatched in reference to an individual being shot. Upon officers arrival they located the 16-year-old victim suffering from a single gunshot wound.
The juvenile victim was transported to the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center where he later died as a result of his injuries.
This investigation is ongoing and the Natchitoches Police Department will release more details as they become available.
