In an exciting beginning to the school year, several hundred students, parents, and family members packed East Natchitoches Elementary School’s open house on Thursday, August 24. Sixth-year Principal Chrystal Davis introduced her dedicated faculty and support staff and spoke to the attendees about her expectations for the year. The school will host 350 young scholars in 5th & 6th grades.
East Natchitoches Elementary School offers a full lineup of extra-curricular activities to keep the fun and learning going on past the classroom hours. The boys and girls may choose from 4-H, basketball, cheerleading, dance, band, and step team. There are ample opportunities to learn, grow, and have fun at East Elementary School!
The school is serious about student learning. The district has placed two instructional coaches at the school to mentor teachers. The East Natchitoches Eagles are also a force to be reckoned with in science and now, social studies. They have fielded a team each of the past several years at the regional science fair, with some going on to represent the parish at the state level. Last year, they added to that remarkable record of accomplishment by sending students to the regional and state-level social studies fairs.
The Natchitoches Parish Journal wishes the boys and girls of the East Natchitoches Elementary School all the best in their academic journey through the school year. We are looking forward to seeing your accomplishments!
