Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Natchez woman in connection with the theft of an Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) in south Natchitoches Parish according to Sheriff Stuart Wright.
NPSO Patrol Operations Bureau deputies responded to reports of an UTV (Utility Terrain Vehicle) stolen from a farm site located in the 1600 block of La. Hwy 119 south of Natchez on Sept. 5 around 8 am.
Deputies arrived on scene and while speaking with the complainant, learned that a 2021 Honda Pioneer 1000 UTV valued at approximately $13,000 had been stolen earlier in the morning.
Deputies gathered information for an offense report. While doing so, deputies learned that a female was observed leaving the area shortly before 8 am on the UTV traveling north on Hwy. 119.
Shortly thereafter, a farm worker observed the stolen UTV parked in a field behind a Natchez residence. The UTV was released to the owner. As the investigation progressed, deputies identified and located a suspect identified as Destiny J. Reese behind a nearby residence.
Deputies say while speaking with Reese she admitted taking the UTV because she wanted to go purchase some cigarettes.
Destiny J. Reese, 29 of Natchez, was arrested without incident, transported and booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with Criminal Trespassing and Felony Theft valued over $1,000 dollars.
Reese remains in the Natchitoches Detention Center awaiting bond.
Lt. S. LaCaze and Cpl. A. Llorence made the arrest.
