The Association for the Preservation of Historic Natchitoches received a prestigious Save America’s Treasures grant of $200,000 which will go toward the Preservation of the Big House and Bindery.
This is an incredible honor for our organization, and a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to preserve the rich history of Melrose.
APHN expressed its heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported the application; and, to the National Park Service, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), and the Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS), for recognizing the historical significance of Melrose.
Melrose is the only location in Louisiana to receive this grant for the year, making this achievement even more special. The APHN is deeply committed to safeguarding Melrose’s heritage and ensuring that future generations can experience the magic of this historic landmark.
